Blurring the line between printmaking and painting

March 29, 2016

This is 'Seawall View II". Here I have incorporated several printmaking methods within the actual painting. First I created a rust print from an old disc brake onto paper and photographed it. The photograph was then printed onto acetate and developed into a photo polymer plate and then printed intaglio onto tissue paper. The tissue paper was then incorporated into the painting. I also took rubbings from the disc brakes onto acetate and inked then up, ( intaglio)  again printing onto tissue paper. These prints were also then carefully glued to the canvas. You can see my work at Kunsthuis Gallery until 15th May
