Inking my collagraph 'a la poupée'!
Having spent several sessions editing this series of collagraph plates I thought I would show you how I ink them 'a la poupée'. This term means that the plate, or matrix, is inked with different colours, using a ball or wad of fabric, and run through the press in one go. I al
so use silver leaf here as this adds areas of light. This is useful, especially if you are using carborundum, which gives deep, rich colour. I have a wide range of collagraphs on show in various galleries and exhibitions around the UK.
